FAQ

FAQ.

Q · 01+

What is Call Sheet Commander?

A web app that takes a shooting schedule and gives you back an editable, populated call sheet for every day of the shoot. Drag scenes, swap cast, push call times. The sheet follows. Built by a DGA AD tired of unnecessary, time-consuming data entry.

Q · 02+

What schedule programs and files can I import?

Cinapse and Think Crew, plus shooting schedule PDFs from Shamel Studio, Movie Magic and most other programs. If your file holds more than one board, the import asks which one to use.

Q · 03+

What about crew lists and Day Out of Days?

Crew lists come in as PDF, Excel or CSV and fill your department crew tables. A cast Day Out of Days PDF fills in each actor's status by day. Both are Pro.

Q · 04+

Is there anything it won't import?

The schedule box only takes shooting schedules, so a DOOD, stripboard or extras breakdown dropped there gets a message telling you what it needs.

Q · 05+

How fast is the actual import?

About 10 seconds (not even time to grab a coffee). The parser pulls cast, locations, times, and departments while you watch. You spend the rest of the time on the parts that need your eyes: adjustments, precalls, notes. Not retyping what the schedule already says.

Q · 06+

What happens when production sends a revised schedule?

Re-import it. Pro flags every change between versions (new scenes, dropped scenes, moved days, cast swaps) so you can review them before you apply. Your current schedule is backed up first.

Q · 07+

What's in Pro versus Basic?

Basic is free forever: unlimited shows and the full editor with every layout, banner, icon and logo option, built by hand. Basic PDFs carry a small "Made with Call Sheet Commander" footer. Pro adds schedule, crew and DOOD import, change tracking, TimeLine and Preppy. Pro also drops the footer from your PDFs.

Q · 08+

How does the free trial work?

Every new account gets 7 days of Pro with everything on, and no card. The clock starts at your first schedule import, not at sign-up.

Q · 09+

I use Cinapse or Think Crew. Is there a deal?

Yes. Sign up through callsheetcommander.com/cinapse or /thinkcrew and your first month of Pro is free: 30 days instead of 7, starting at your first import, no card. It's for new accounts, so use the link before you make one.

Q · 10+

What does Pro cost, and can I get a refund?

Pro is $19 a month or $179 a year. Lifetime is $249 once, for the first 25 supporters only. Every paid plan comes with a 30-day refund, no questions asked.

Q · 11+

What do Lifetime members get?

Lifetime members can request two custom features, like a new field, a layout option or a workflow shortcut, that fit within how the program works. Requests must be made within one year of purchase. Improvements may be shared with all users. If a request is beyond the current software's scope, we may suggest a different one. Innovative ideas are always welcome!

Q · 12+

How do I get help?

Ask Preppy inside the app, click "Questions?" at the bottom of any page on this site, or email support@callsheetcommander.com. Our AI help desk answers how-to questions any time, day or night. Billing, refunds and account changes always go to a person, who gets back to you within one business day.

Q · 13+

What if something breaks the night before the shoot?

Tell the help desk. Anything that stops a call sheet going out (an import fails, you can't print, share or save, or data is missing) gets a workaround right away and is flagged to a person at once.

SECURITY · 14+

Where does my call sheet data actually live?

In storage attached to your account, not a shared public database. Each production gets its own URL and its own storage space.

SECURITY · 15+

Who can see my call sheets?

You, and the people you choose to send the PDF to. Call sheets are private inside your account by default. The help desk only looks at a show's files if you say yes, to fix a problem you reported.

SECURITY · 16+

Does Preppy (the AI) train on my data?

No. Preppy is powered by Anthropic's Claude and only reads what's in your sheet to answer your question in the moment. Your call sheets are never used to train a model.

SECURITY · 17+

What about cast names, contracts, or NDA-bound material?

Treated the same as everything else in the sheet: encrypted in transit, never sold, never used for training, and shared only with the services that run the app, as listed in our Privacy Policy. If your production has a specific data-handling requirement, email support@callsheetcommander.com and we'll talk it through.

SECURITY · 18+

Can I export or delete my data?

Yes to both. Export a PDF of any call sheet anytime, and delete a show from the "..." menu on its card. To wipe your account entirely, email support@callsheetcommander.com and we'll remove it and everything tied to it.

Q · 19+

Can I export to Excel?

Not today. You can export a PDF of any call sheet anytime.
